“Cyborgs are intelligent user interfaces that humans ‘put on‘ like a virtual Ironman suit to combine computational power with human reasoning.“

About me

I am a doctoral candidate at the DFG Research Training Group Media Anthropology at Bauhaus-University Weimar, supervised by Prof. Dr. Bernhard Siegert. My doctoral research explores the practice of ‚botting‘ with fame-enhancing bots on Instagram, examining how this digital infrastructure and environment of relations enables the modes of existence of both bots and users. My research interests lie at the intersection of human and automated cultures within digital platforms and methodologies for researching digital media.

I hold a B.A. in Art, Music, and Media from the Philipps-Universität Marburg and the Université de Poitiers (2017), as well as an M.A. in European Film and Media Studies and a Master Cinéma et Audiovisuel from the Université Lumière Lyon II, the Bauhaus University Weimar, and the Universiteit Utrecht (2019). With a solid foundation in media theory, a multidisciplinary perspective drawing from Media and Platform Studies, Media Ecology and Media Anthropology, and digital ethnographic research methodologies, I am equipped to research the complex relations between humans, technology, and culture.

As a member of the Association of Internet Researchers (AoIR), the European Network for Cinema and Media Studies (NECS), and the German Association of Media Studies (GfM), I am committed to advancing our understanding of digital cultures and their implications for society.
